Record #110267:

KOSI? / H. Uwe Keller, Wojciech J. Markiewicz.

Title: KOSI? / H. Uwe Keller, Wojciech J. Markiewicz.
Author(s): Keller, H. Uwe.
Markiewicz, Wojciech J.
Date: 1991.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1991.), Vol. 18(2) (1991)
Abstract: KOSI (Kometensimulation) experiments are discussed from point of view of their possible applications to cometary sciences. Scales and geometries of KOSI and comets are compared, making it obvious that laboratory simulation of global cometary features is impossible. To illustrate difficulties, properties of gas flow generated by sublimating ice/dust samples, interaction of gas with emitted grains and heat transport within sample are discussed.
Notes:
