Abstract: Ocean wave dispersion relation and viscous attenuation are studied for waves propagating into marginal ice zone. Derivation of dispersion relation and viscous attenuation by ice are discussed for waves under flexure and pack compression. Airborne SAR imagery, wave buoy and ice property data are used from Labrador Ice Margin Experiment, March 1987. Model/data comparisons are reasonably good.
