Abstract: Discusses recent studies which show that doubling CO₂ concentrations in atmosphere could lower water levels, reduce duration of ice cover (by 1 to 1.5 months), lengthen shipping seasons (while increasing costs), reduce dissolved oxygen levels in shallow basins, and increase fish productivity.
