Abstract: Discusses role of albedo in reducing effect of greenhouse gases: increasing Earth's albedo from 0.30 to 0.315 would conceal doubling of CO₂. Small ice crystals in mesosphere affect albedo and increased condensation of water vapour into particles could be significant. Such an episode could be triggered by either terrestrial or extraterrestrial factors.
