| Abstract: | Presents results of surveys and estimates of 1990 herring harvest in four Nelson Island and one Nunivak Island community in southwest Alaska. 1990 findings compared with similar surveys conducted from 1986-1988. Survey documents level of subsistence use of herring by communities, and monitors effects of commercial herring sac-roe industry initiated in 1985. |
