Abstract: Response to I. Whitaker, "Health and the late medieval population of Greenland", in Polar Record, Vol. 26 (No. 158), p. 236-237. Discusses ongoing research on Norse anthropological remains in collections of Laboratory of Physical Anthropology, University of Copenhagen. Dental anthropological study shows decrease in size of teeth and changes in occurrence of dental agenesis. Database of all known human remains from Greenland is being completed as part of project "Man and his environment in ancient Greenland". Total accumulated population of settlements over about 500 years is approximately 70,000.
