Abstract: | Pre-nesting feeding behaviour of up to 120 pink-footed geese was studied in hayfields in southern Iceland (at Spóastadhir, Skálholt, Biskupstungur) during late spring 1989. Areas within 1 m of snow patches had significantly greater amounts of green material than those farther away, and geese spent nearly 60 times more time feeding within 1 m of snow patches than might have been expected by chance, and 20 times more time within 2-5 m. |
Notes: | Holarctic Ecology. Vol. 14(2) :81-84 (1991). |
