Record #109830:
A numerical investigation of the circulation in the Greenland and Norwegian seas / Stephanie Legutke.
Title: | A numerical investigation of the circulation in the Greenland and Norwegian seas / Stephanie Legutke. |
Author(s): | Legutke, Stephanie. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. (1991.), Vol. 21(1) (1991) |
Abstract: | Based on use of general circulation model. Primitive equations are solved on 12 levels with horizontal grid-point distance of approx. 20 km. Model is not eddy-resolving; baroclinic deformation radius in this region is about 5 km only. First, two-year experiment was run, with forcing functions and initial stratification derived from climatological annual-mean data. Model fields obtained by this experiment were used to initialize another experiment which was forced with historical six-hourly wind-stress data of 2.5 year period. |
Notes: | Journal of Physical Oceanography. Vol. 21(1) :118-148 (1991). |
Keywords: | 551.465 -- Oceanography, dynamics. C -- Oceanography, hydrography and hydrology. (*60) -- Arctic Ocean and adjacent waters. (*615) -- Norwegian Sea. (*617) -- Greenland Sea and Fram Strait. |
