Abstract: Reviews recent work on effects of increased ultraviolet radiation experienced by Antarctic ecosystem during periods of ozone depletion. Notes difficulties caused by inadequate pre-depletion baseline data and lack of information about how physical features such as clouds, snow and ice and the UV-B photobiology of endemic species can alter potential biological effects of this environmental stress.
