Includes details of sheep farming, shepherds and their families; wreck of Lozère in 1928; business difficulties; outbreak of beriberi on Île St Paul in 1931 and subsequent evacuation of colony; and discussion of importance of Bossière's role in maintaining French sovereignty over sub-Antarctic islands in Indian Ocean sector of Southern Ocean. |
