Abstract: Studies effect of weak electrostatic field on amplification of ion cyclotron electromagnetic waves in anisotropic Maxwellian earth and Jovian magnetoplasma. Derives dispersion relation in presence of parallel electric field for ion cyclotron electromagnetic wave in anisotropic bi Maxwellian plasma and obtains expression for growth rate in terms of temperature anisotropy and electric field by solving dispersion relation. Computes growth rates for earth magnetoplasma at L = 6.6RE and discusses geophysical implications.
