Abstract: Andreassen was born in 1890, son of great hunter and shaman Mitsivarniánga, and was among first Ammassalik people to be baptised. He was educated as catechist in Nuuk. He was fascinated by drawing from childhood, and was well supported in this by West Greenland priests and teachers in Ammassalik. Most of his inspiration came from East Greenland saga world. He worked closely for long time with Knud Rasmussen. Book contains life of Andreassen.
