| Abstract: | Author discusses archaeological traces of history of west European whaling and Russian (Pomor) settlement, found from 1982-85. Author evaluates whaling objects from Schønningholmane-Höferpynten sites and defines their place in organisational structure of whaling station in Hornsund in first half of 17th Cent. Analysis of inventories of Pomor complexes on Palffyodden and Bjørnbeinflyene leads author to conclusion that they are from 18th Cent. Some interesting discoveries of traces of nautical penetration of Pomors found on NW coasts of Sørkapp Land are presented. |
