| Abstract: | In 1970s, mean lichen biomass in earmark districts ranged from 54 kg to 380 kg per ha. In "poorer" districts alternative fodder was available. In 1980-86 recruitment was higher than in 1970s and was higher than expected. Article gives results on range lands, animal density, condition of lichen ranges, meat production and calf production. |
