Article explains role of Se in metabolism and its relation to epidemiology, with some conflicting results because of large geographical differences in intake of Se. Author carried out survey of Tromsø Heart Study and used Seventh-Day Adventist data. Cancer group of diseases differs in incidence between north and south. No statistical link with Se appeared.
