Record #108640:

Measurement and evaluation of snowpacks / Dennis C. Trabant, George P. Clagett.

Title: Measurement and evaluation of snowpacks / Dennis C. Trabant, George P. Clagett.
Author(s): Trabant, Dennis C.
Clagett, George P.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Civil Engineers
In: Cold regions hydrology and hydraulics : a state of the practice report prepared by the Technical Council on Cold Regions Engineering of the American Society of Civil Engineers. (1990.),
Abstract: Understanding of how to assess areal extent, depth, density, porosity, surface reflectivity, and water equivalent of snowpack is fundamental for evaluating its thermal characteristics, hardness, loading, potential for avalanching, water yield, metamorphic behaviour and hydrologic characteristics. Presents summary of some specific mechanical, chemical, electrical and optical properties to aid further investigation.
Notes:
