Abstract: Aquifer studied was glaciofluvial deposit with thick sand and gravel underlain by glaciomarine silt and clay. Hydrogeological model developed on basis of field observations and data collected during International Hydrological Decade. Half annual precipitation lost through evapotranspiration. Nearly 60% new groundwater percolates through soil during snowmelt. Average melting rate in spring: 13.5  mm d⁻¹.
