Record #107676:

Quaternary glaciations of the southern Andes / Jorge O. Rabassa, Chalmers M. Clapperton.

Title: Quaternary glaciations of the southern Andes / Jorge O. Rabassa, Chalmers M. Clapperton.
Author(s): Rabassa, Jorge O.
Clapperton, Chalmers M.
Date: 1990.
In: Quaternary Science Reviews. (1990.), Vol. 9(2-3) (1990)
Abstract: This area, between 27 and 55° S (Argentina and Chile), has been repeatedly glaciated during Late Cenozoic and contains one of the most complete glacial land records in the world. Describes evidence supplied by deposits and moraines. Llanquihue glaciation (one of best-dated sequences in South America) is proposed as South American equivalent of Wisconsinan and Weichselian glaciations.
