Record #107363:

Crustal structure of the sheared southwestern Barents Sea continental margin / H.R. Jackson, Jan Inge Faleide, O. Eldholm.

Title: Crustal structure of the sheared southwestern Barents Sea continental margin / H.R. Jackson, Jan Inge Faleide, O. Eldholm.
Author(s): Jackson, H. R.
Faleide, Jan Inge.
Eldholm, O.
Date: 1990.
Abstract: Eighteen expanding spread profiles (collected 1983-86) were studied with seismic interpretation techniques and in conjunction with seismic reflection data. Results showed oceanic crust at Senja Fracture Zone to differ from standard oceanic crust, with velocity for layer 2 of 5.7-6.4 km s⁻¹ and slightly smaller crystalline crustal thickness. Continent-ocean transition at crustal depths was in range of 10-20 km. Depths down to 20 km were inferred for base of sedimentary section in south-western Barents Sea.
