Record #107043:

Numerical simulation of dynamic ice structure interaction / Esa Eranti.

Title: Numerical simulation of dynamic ice structure interaction / Esa Eranti.
Author(s): Eranti, Esa.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Espoo: Helsinki University of Technology
In: IAHR. The 10th Symposium on Ice, August 20-24, 1990, Espoo, Finland. Proceedings. (1990.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Theory of dynamic ice/structure interaction is discussed based on tests with fresh-water ice; unique feature of tests was direct measurement of ice force separately from structural response. Indenter shape, aspect ratio, and mass and stiffness of vibrating system were varied over wide range. Iterative computation model simulating interaction and applying zonal ice failure concept is introduced. Results are in agreement with measured ice force and response records in many cases, including crushing failure against vertical face. Discussion, Vol. 3, p. 432-434.
