Record #106925:

Laboratory investigation of trash rack heating to prevent freezeup by frazil ice / Steven F. Daly, Frank Donald Haynes, Donald E. Garfield, John J. Gagnon.

Title: Laboratory investigation of trash rack heating to prevent freezeup by frazil ice / Steven F. Daly, Frank Donald Haynes, Donald E. Garfield, John J. Gagnon.
Author(s): Daly, Steven F.
Haynes, Frank Donald.
Garfield, Donald E.
Gagnon, John J.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Espoo: Helsinki University of Technology
In: IAHR. The 10th Symposium on Ice, August 20-24, 1990, Espoo, Finland. Proceedings. (1990.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: If practical problems can be overcome, heating upstream face of trash rack bars can be effective and relatively economical anti-icing method, e.g. with bar spacing of 10 cm and minimum heating rate of 40 W m⁻¹, total energy requirement would be 0.4 kW m⁻². Discussion, Vol. 3, p. 381-383.
Notes:

In: IAHR. The 10th Symposium on Ice, August 20-24, 1990, Espoo, Finland. Proceedings. Vol. 2. / International Association for Hydrological Research.

Keywords: 624.146 -- Anchor ice and frazil ice, damage.
624.14 -- Snow and ice engineering.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
