Thermal response of ice rubble: predictions and observations / Kenneth R. Croasdale, Norman F.B. Allyn, R.W. Marcellus.
Title: | Thermal response of ice rubble: predictions and observations / Kenneth R. Croasdale, Norman F.B. Allyn, R.W. Marcellus. |
Author(s): | Croasdale, Kenneth R. Allyn, Norman F. B. Marcellus, R. W. |
Date: | 1990. |
Publisher: | Espoo: Helsinki University of Technology |
In: | IAHR. The 10th Symposium on Ice, August 20-24, 1990, Espoo, Finland. Proceedings. (1990.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | Describes computer model which can be used to predict refreezing ice rubble as function of parameters such as air temperature, wind speed, radiation, ice temperature, rubble porosity, rubble height, snow cover, and salinity. Model also predicts mechanical properties of refrozen layer. Results from using model are compared to full-scale observations, and importance of various input parameters is discussed. |
