Record #105528:

Sedimentation from sea ice in the eastern Arctic Basin and Fram Strait / Stephanie L. Pfirman.

Title: Sedimentation from sea ice in the eastern Arctic Basin and Fram Strait / Stephanie L. Pfirman.
Author(s): Pfirman, Stephanie L.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Moscow: Nauka
In: Arctic research : advances and prospects : proceedings of the Conference of Arctic and Northern Countries on Coordination of Research in the Arctic, Leningrad, December 1988. (1990.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Transpolar Drift conveys sea ice from Siberian shelf across Eurasian Basin and through Fram Strait. Sediment is thought to be incorporated in ice as it forms on Siberian shelves. Starting in 1984, series of international multidisciplinary investigations were carried out to determine flux of sediment and to ascertain its contribution to sea-floor sediment accumulations. These investigations are described briefly.
