Record #105140:

On the rate of heat transfer between a lake and an ice sheet / P.F. Hamblin, Eddy C. Carmack.

Title: On the rate of heat transfer between a lake and an ice sheet / P.F. Hamblin, Eddy C. Carmack.
Author(s): Hamblin, P. F.
Carmack, Eddy C.
Date: 1990.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1990.), Vol. 18(2) (1990)
Abstract: Derives estimates of sensible heat transfer between lake ice and water based on currents and temperatures of water 1 m below ice. Field data collected from 1983 to 1985 in three large lakes of headwater region of Yukon River basin. Value found is within limits of smooth and rough ice conditions in laboratory studies and appears to be rather less than that in recent sea-ice studies.
