Abstract: Suggestions that improvements can be made in practical evaluation of short- and long-term adfreeze bond were confirmed by results of direct double-shear tests, carried out in cold-room conditions. Two types of pile materials were used (steel and aluminium) and two types of frozen soil (sand and silt). All tests at -2°C.
