Record #105004:

Modeling the movement of water, heat and solutes in frost-susceptible soils / Francisco Padilla, Jean-Pierre Villeneuve.

Title: Modeling the movement of water, heat and solutes in frost-susceptible soils / Francisco Padilla, Jean-Pierre Villeneuve.
Author(s): Padilla, Francisco.
Villeneuve, Jean-Pierre.
Date: 1990.
In: Collection Nordicana. (1990.), Vol. 54 (1990)
Abstract: Applies one-dimensional finite-element model MELEF-3v for frost heave of northern road, which is maintained with help of melting salts. Infiltration of water and dissolved salts in paved system and in supporting soil is solved for numerical solution of water flow, heat and solute transport. Unless uncoupled, equations are sequentially solved, in same time step, for phase changes, ice lensing and other parameters, through several solutions to discontinuity concept of Stefan problem.
