Record #104934:
An Early Permian palynoflora from Milorgfjella, Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica / Kent Larsson, Sofie Lindström, Dorothy Guy-Ohlson.
Title: | An Early Permian palynoflora from Milorgfjella, Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica / Kent Larsson, Sofie Lindström, Dorothy Guy-Ohlson. |
Author(s): | Larsson, Kent. Lindström, Sofie. Guy-Ohlson, Dorothy. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Antarctic Science. (1990.), Vol. 2(4) (1990) |
Abstract: | Preliminary palynological study of Beacon Supergroup sedimentary rocks exposed at Milorgfjella has yielded a relatively rich and well preserved palynoflora dominated by spores and pollen grains, but also including acritarchs and green algae. Palynoflora indicates freshwater conditions or influence on the depositional environment. Comparison with other palynoflora from Gondwana suggests an Early Permian age. |
