| Abstract: | Reports subsurface profiles of winter roadway over Tanana River near Fairbanks, Alaska, obtained during airborne and surface short-pulse radar surveys. Discusses 1988 airborne radar reflections, along with more detailed profiling from surface and further drilling during 1989 winter with view to evaluating effectiveness of airborne surveys as means of locating unfrozen channels and of measuring depth of frost penetration beneath bars. |
