Record #104813:

A quantitative shape analysis of early palaeo-eskimo endblades from northern Devon Island / James W. Helmer, Ian G. Robertson.

Title: A quantitative shape analysis of early palaeo-eskimo endblades from northern Devon Island / James W. Helmer, Ian G. Robertson.
Author(s): Helmer, James W.
Robertson, Ian G.
Date: 1990.
In: Canadian Journal of Archaeology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990)
Abstract: Argues that previous typological analyses of Palaeo-Eskimo artifacts have failed to identify critical parameters of attribute variation and that therefore, many claims made concerning patterning and variation in Arctic Small Tool tradition (ASTi) tools are methodologically suspect. Demonstrates possibility of detecting discrete patterning in attribute variation in sample of Pre-Dorset small triangular bifaces.
