Record #104772:

Remote sensing of the polar oceans / Robert A. Shuchman, Robert G. Onstott.

Title: Remote sensing of the polar oceans / Robert A. Shuchman, Robert G. Onstott.
Author(s): Shuchman, Robert A.
Onstott, Robert G.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: San Diego, CA: Academic Press
In: Polar oceanography. Part A. Physical science. (1990.),
Abstract: Emphasis on remote sensing of sea ice, highlighting microwave sensors. Basic concepts are followed by section dealing with interaction of electromagnetic energy with various sea-ice types, including effects of snow cover. Next, examples are presented showing how satellite, aircraft, and ground-based instruments provide information, mainly from Arctic sources, although techniques are also applicable to Antarctic.
Notes:

In: Polar oceanography. Part A. Physical science / Walker O. Smith, Jr, ed.
