Record #104749:
High resolution ¹⁰Be and ²³⁰Th stratigraphy of Late Quaternary sediments from the Fram Strait (core 23235) / A. Eisenhauer, and 8 others.
Title: | High resolution ¹⁰Be and ²³⁰Th stratigraphy of Late Quaternary sediments from the Fram Strait (core 23235) / A. Eisenhauer, and 8 others. |

Abstract: | Variation in concentration of these isotopes yielded stratigraphy at resolution comparable to δ¹⁸O method. Radioisotope stratigraphy is useful tool for understanding geological record in sediments from high latitudes, where δ¹⁸O stratigraphy is not available due to low carbonate contents. Coherent ratio of fluxes of ¹⁰Be and ²³⁰Th into sediments may be used to trace periods of enhanced scavenging of trace elements from water column as response to periods of stronger biological productivity. |
