Record #104670:

Latest Pleistocene increase in wind intensity recorded in eolian sediments from Central Alaska / Nancy Bigelow, Jim Begét, Roger Powers.

Title: Latest Pleistocene increase in wind intensity recorded in eolian sediments from Central Alaska / Nancy Bigelow, Jim Begét, Roger Powers.
Author(s): Bigelow, Nancy.
Begét, Jim.
Powers, Roger.
Date: 1990.
In: Quaternary Research. (1990.), Vol. 34(2) (1990)
Abstract: Reports identification of brief wind intensity increase between ca 11,100 and 10,700 BP on basis of sharp increase in sediment grain size at aeolian sections along Nenana River and coinciding with Younger Dryas climatic reversal in northern Europe and increase in vigour of atmospheric circulation recorded by Greenland ice cores. Argues that this climatic fluctuation may reflect variation in CO² content of atmosphere. For subsequent correspondence relating to this paper, see ibid. 1990 36 :329-33 and 36 :334-338.
