Record #104566:

The Greenland gravitational constant experiment / Mark A. Zumberge, and 17 others.

Title: The Greenland gravitational constant experiment / Mark A. Zumberge, and 17 others.
Author(s): Zumberge, Mark A.
Date: 1990.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1990.), Vol. 95(B10) (1990)
Abstract: Airy-type geophysical experiment was conducted in 2 km deep hole in Greenland ice cap at Dye 3, at depths between 213 and 613 m, to test for possible violations of Newton's inverse square law. Gravity measurements were made at eight depths in 183 m intervals. Anomalous variation in gravity totalling 3.87 mGal (3.87 x 10⁻⁵ m/s²) in depth interval of 1460 m was observed. May be attributed either to breakdown of Newtonian gravity or to unexpected density variations in rock below ice.
Notes:

Keywords: 550.312 -- Gravity and isostasy.
A -- Geophysical sciences (general).
(*38) -- Greenland.
