| Abstract: | English summaries. During ANTARKTIS V/4, 26 December - 17 March, a number of land-based as well as marine research programmes conducted in the southern Weddell Sea including marine-geophysical and geological investigations of the sea bed, oceanographic and hydrochemical studies on formation and distribution of Antarctic bottom waters (ABW), biological studies of benthic organism metabolism, glaciological, geodetic and geophysical studies on the Ekström Ice Shelf. During leg 5, 19 March - 19 April, trace compounds measured in water, organisms and atmosphere in order to understand mass transport and fate of naturally occurring and man-made trace compounds in surface layer of Atlantic Ocean and corresponding atmosphere. |
