Record #104511:

Service temperature of steel in cold climates / Michel Huther, J.F. Regrettier.

Title: Service temperature of steel in cold climates / Michel Huther, J.F. Regrettier.
Author(s): Huther, Michel.
Regrettier, J. F.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Southampton: Computational Mechanics Publications
In: Ice technology for polar operations : proceedings of the Second International Conference on Ice Technology, held at Downing College, Cambridge University, UK, during 18-20 September 1990. (1990.),
Abstract: To improve knowledge of steel temperature in service, the point in transition at which it loses ductility and becomes brittle, experiment conducted in Antarctica to measure both steel surface temperature and air screened temperature. Presents measurements and results and discusses influence of different climatological parameters on steel temperature. Describes a deterministic model and discusses feasibility of probabilistic formulation based on same.
