Record #104502:

Pliocene-Pleistocene paleoceanography in the Weddell Sea - siliceous microfossil evidence / Andrea Abelmann, R. Gersonde, V. Spiess.

Title: Pliocene-Pleistocene paleoceanography in the Weddell Sea - siliceous microfossil evidence / Andrea Abelmann, R. Gersonde, V. Spiess.
Author(s): Abelmann, Andrea.
Gersonde, R.
Spiess, V.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic
In: Geological history of the polar oceans : Arctic versus Antarctic. (1990.),
Abstract: Siliceous microfossils (radiolarians, diatoms, silicoflagellates) from sediment cores taken on a north-south transect between Agulhas Basin and continent used for reconstruction of palaeoceanographic and palaeoclimatic evolution in Atlantic sector of Southern Ocean during Plio-Pleistocene. Abundance patterns, species composition of preserved assemblages, and time-geographic occurrences of hiatuses used as indicators of changes in palaeoproductivity, surface water temperature and deep water activity.
