Record #104470:

Phosphates in ornithogenic soils of the maritime Antarctic / Andrzej Tatur, Alexander Keck.

Title: Phosphates in ornithogenic soils of the maritime Antarctic / Andrzej Tatur, Alexander Keck.
Author(s): Tatur, Andrzej.
Keck, Alexander.
Date: 1990.
In: National Institute of Polar Research. Proceedings of the NIPR Symposium on Polar Biology. (1990.), Vol. 3 (1990)
Abstract: Based on mineralogic data from whole maritime Antarctic region, describes vertical distribution and provides chemical composition, X-ray pattern, and microscopic images of selected phosphates. These derive from penguin guano and due to Antarctic climatic conditions may last in soils for thousands of years.
