Record #104382:

Thermal characteristics of the permafrost within an active rock glacier (Murtèl/Corvatsch, Grisson, Swiss Alps) / Daniel Vonder Mühll, Wilfried Haeberli.

Title: Thermal characteristics of the permafrost within an active rock glacier (Murtèl/Corvatsch, Grisson, Swiss Alps) / Daniel Vonder Mühll, Wilfried Haeberli.
Author(s): Mühll, Daniel Vonder.
Haeberli, Wilfried.
Date: 1990.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 36(123) (1990)
Abstract: Describes bore-hole temperatures measured during first year of observation, discusses thermal properties of frozen material, and presents analysis of heat-flow conditions within creeping permafrost of rock glacier. Permafrost is 52 m thick and has probably existed during entire Holocene and, hence, during formation of rock glacier. Long-term monitoring is planned.
