Record #104325:
A three-dimensional dynamic model for determining the equilibrium configurations of buoyantly unstable icebergs / R.G. Jessup, S. Venkatesh.
Title: | A three-dimensional dynamic model for determining the equilibrium configurations of buoyantly unstable icebergs / R.G. Jessup, S. Venkatesh. |
Author(s): | Jessup, R. G. Venkatesh, S. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering. (1990.), Vol. 112(3) (1990) |
Abstract: | Method required for determining stability of iceberg before towing away from offshore platforms. Model uses full dynamic equations of motion for all six degrees of freedom (three rotational and three translational). No restrictions on size, shape, or dimensionality of iceberg, nor on variation range of configuration coordinates. Behaviour of model is examined through several model simulations. |
