| Abstract: | Reports results of first aerial photographic survey of Adélie penguin colonies in area which extended from northern Vestfold Hills to the Publications Ice Shelf. More than 325,000 pairs estimated for 1981-82, with great majority of breeding penguins occurring in northern half, in the Vestfold Hills and Rauer Islands, probably due to early sea-ice dispersal. |
