Abstract: First statistical study of southern polar arcs behaviour during a complete solar cycle describes their characteristics: diurnal and seasonal occurrence variations; life-time; colour and brightness; magnetic/solar conditions of appearance; relation to the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF); and orientation with respect to sun direction.
