Abstract: Part of Norwegian research project "Russian hunting stations on Svalbard". Expedition comprising members of Tromsø University and Jagiellonian University of Kraków carried out survey work in area of Hornsund (south Spitsbergen) and on western coast of Edgeøya, chosen because of their strategic position in process of expansion and development of Russian hunting stations in Svalbard area. In Habenichtbukta ruins of western European whaling station are right next to remains of Pomor settlement.
