Glaciations and glacial landforms in Finland / Harry Zilliacus.
Title: | Glaciations and glacial landforms in Finland / Harry Zilliacus. |
Author(s): | Zilliacus, Harry. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Journal of Glaciology and Geocryology. (1990.), Vol. 12(1) (1990) |
Abstract: | Fennoscandian ice sheet covered Finland at least twice between 80 and 9 ka BP. Deglaciation began in 12 ka and was completed in 9 ka. Roches moutonées are common erosional features in Finland, and drumlins and De Geer moraines are conspicuous depositional landforms. Glaciofluvial drift is evident from outwash plains, sandar, eskers, kames, etc. |
