| Abstract: | During winter 1985-86, investigations into causes of frost heave at Ravalli County Airport, Hamilton, MT, were made by determining frost susceptibilities and hydraulic properties of soil at airport. Focused on three necessary conditions for occurrence of frost heave: frost susceptible soil, available water, and freezing temperatures. Recommendations made for design changes to subgrade. |
