Record #104162:

Three functions that model empirically unfrozen water content data and predict relative hydraulic conductivity / Patrick B. Black.

Title: Three functions that model empirically unfrozen water content data and predict relative hydraulic conductivity / Patrick B. Black.
Author(s): Black, Patrick B.
Date: 1990.
In: CRREL Report. (1990.), Vol. 90-5 (1990)
Abstract: Empirically determined data on changes in unfrozen water content occurring as result of changes in state of ice and water in soil are discussed with reference to changes in soil-water retention data for ice-free soil. Similarity between two types of data is developed. Brooks and Corey, van Genuchten, and Gardner equations are then shown to be applicable to describing unfrozen water content. These three functions are then used in model of Mualem and relative hydraulic conductivity of frozen soil is predicted.
