The influences of atmospheric half-yearly cycle on the sea ice extent in the Antarctic / Hiroyuki Enomoto, Atsumu Ohmura.
Title: | The influences of atmospheric half-yearly cycle on the sea ice extent in the Antarctic / Hiroyuki Enomoto, Atsumu Ohmura. |
Author(s): | Enomoto, Hiroyuki. Ohmura, Atsumu. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Journal of Geophysical Research. (1990.), Vol. 95(C6) (1990) |
Abstract: | Characteristically asymmetic seasonal behaviour of sea-ice, with sea-ice area advancing slowly toward equator in winter and retreating rapidly in summer, is shown to be linked to atmospheric convergence line around Antarctic continent. Relative positions of line characterized by half-yearly cycle exert strong influence on mean movement of sea ice. |
Notes: | Journal of Geophysical Research. Vol. 95(C6) :9497-9511 (1990). |
