Record #104138:

Ice-sheet elevation change (abstract) / H. Jay Zwally.

Title: Ice-sheet elevation change (abstract) / H. Jay Zwally.
Author(s): Zwally, H. Jay.
Date: 1990.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990)
Abstract: Recent Geosat radar altimeter measurements provide sufficient density of repeated measurements of ice elevation for analysis of elevation change during life of satellite. Largest values near summit of Greenland ice sheet and over southern dome; smaller values in saddle and towards margins. Comparisons with elevations measured by Seasat altimeter in 1978 and continuing Geosat measurements provide information on temporal continuity of thickening. Spatial distribution of elevation changes is used to estimate average thickening rate and current rate of oceanic depletion.
