Record #104118:
200-hundred year climate record from Antarctic Peninsula (abstract) / David A. Peel, Robert Mulvaney.
Title: | 200-hundred year climate record from Antarctic Peninsula (abstract) / David A. Peel, Robert Mulvaney. |
Author(s): | Peel, David A. Mulvaney, Robert. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990) |
Abstract: | From previous ice-core studies by these and other authors, it is now possible to propose regional climatic signal for Weddell Sea coastal sector of peninsula. Most striking feature is broad maximum in δ¹⁸O for mid-19th century, implying decadal average temperature at least as high as present, contrasting with evidence from elsewhere in southern hemisphere. Tentative explanations are proposed, based on evidence for period (1974-80) where climatic shifts are clearly amplified in isotopic records. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 14 :353 (1990). |
