Record #104101:
Past temperature record from the analysis of melt features in the Dye 3, Greenland, ice core (abstract) / Chester C. Langway, Jr, Hitoshi Shoji.
Title: | Past temperature record from the analysis of melt features in the Dye 3, Greenland, ice core (abstract) / Chester C. Langway, Jr, Hitoshi Shoji. |
Author(s): | Langway, Chester C., Shoji, Hitoshi. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990) |
Abstract: | Examination of layered sequences of melt features in inland polar ice sheets provides valuable proxy data on past variations in summer temperature. Continuous light-table examination was made of 2037 m Dye 3 ice core immediately after recovery. Correlation made between these features and extent and intensity of summer temperatures. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 14 :343-344 (1990). |
