Record #104062:

The fracture toughness of porous ice with and without particles / T.R. Smith, M.E. Schulson, E.M. Schulson.

Title: The fracture toughness of porous ice with and without particles / T.R. Smith, M.E. Schulson, E.M. Schulson.
Author(s): Smith, T. R.
Schulson, M. E.
Schulson, E. M.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1990 - presented at ... Houston, Texas, February 18-23, 1990. Vol. 4. Arctic/polar technology. (1990.),
Abstract: Fresh-water ice with and without kaolinite or styrofoam inclusions. Results show weak reduction in fracture toughness with increasing porosity. Inclusions of kaolinite had little effect, whereas styrofoam inclusions showed pronounced toughening.
